Open Lands
Growing up in the prairies of central Illinois, I was surrounded by open fields and big skies. That sense of space has always stayed with me.
The sage steppe, high desert, and open valleys of the West feel familiar in a different way. There’s a similar openness, a wider horizon, and a quieter kind of landscape.
These places are shaped by light, weather, and distance. Less about what surrounds you, and more about what stretches out ahead.
