Forests
Growing up in the Midwest, I spent time collecting leaves and climbing trees. Looking back, that may have been the start of it.
Since moving to the Pacific Northwest, that connection has only deepened. The scale of the forests here, especially in old growth, brings a different kind of quiet.
There is a sense of calm in these places. A slower pace, a feeling of being present, something that stays with you long after you leave.
