Birds
Birding is how I move through the world outside. It slows things down and sharpens your attention. You start to notice movement, sound, and patterns that are easy to miss if you are just passing through. Most of my time in the field begins like this: listening, watching, and following whatever catches my attention.
The photography comes from that. Not just a rare bird or a dramatic moment, but the smaller things too. A behavior, a bit of light, the feeling of being somewhere wild and paying attention. Most of these images come from time spent in the Pacific Northwest, with others from farther afield.
I am still learning every time I go out.
