It's the Wednesday after Memorial Day. After reading some other postings from the blogsphere, I realize that I haven't updated my own blog. As usual, I got off track and one thing leads to another before I post any musings from the Northwest.
During that time, I've travelled two Atlanta (for work) twice, gotten a stomach flu (or food poisoning, I'm not sure which), gotten a roommate, and bought a brand spankin' new awesome Apple MacBook. What an interesting couple months!
The Memorial Day holiday itself was rather uneventful. Friday night was spent at home catching up on the plethora of British sit-coms that are stored on my Comcast DVR. Saturday was spent watching more TV and then finally venturing out to the Apple Store to check out new gear for my MacBook. At the Apple Store, I ran into co-worker and friend Doug with his girlfriend and another friend. We all went over to the RAM Brewery next door and had a few microbrews. That evening was spent out and about with pal Jody at some of Capitol Hill's bars. Sunday was an early morning since I didn't sleep well Saturday night. Jody and I drove out to the Eastside and visited this store called Ross. Ross is a discount retail store full of previous season clothes and some housewares. It was a travesty. The people who were shopping there were obnoxious, rude, and obtuse. I was only so happy to get the hell out of there and to the huge suburban mecca called CostCo. There, I bought a bottle of French wine with a cartoonish cow on the label. Dinner was at a great restaurant called 5 Spot up on Queen Anne Hill. Finally, on Monday, I slept in a bit before heading out to a breakfast on Capitol Hill. The rest of the day was spent window shopping and drinking Bloody Marys and martinis downtown. Overall, not a bad weekend.
